Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Aayushhi:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
My journey hasn’t been linear—you’ll see resilience, learning, and constant rediscovery at every turn. I first set my sights on clearing CLAT. When things didn’t unfold as planned, I chose a different path and pursued law at Ramaiah College of Law, Bangalore. After graduating, I prepared for the judiciary exams, driven by a deep desire to serve. But health challenges held me back from appearing with the level of preparation I knew I deserved.
I stepped into private-sector roles, only to realise that the work didn’t align with my core purpose. That’s when I chose clarity over comfort. I pursued a Master’s degree from O.P. Jindal Global University, followed by a Diploma in Human Rights Development from Harvard University, Boston. This phase was transformative—it strengthened my confidence, broadened my worldview, and helped me rediscover my direction.
Around the same time, I entered the world of pageantry. I participated in Mrs. Madhya Pradesh, and later won International Queen of India 2024, along with becoming the 2nd Runner-Up in Mrs. Central India 2024, both organised by The Pageant India. These titles didn’t just boost my confidence—they gave me a powerful platform to speak about empowerment, women’s rights, and social awareness.
With renewed purpose, I founded my own NGO and also partnered with a friend in his initiative. Today, I work with two organisations:
a) IEPRO (Integrated Environment Planning & Research Organisation) – focused on environmental and health awareness.
b) Counsels Cottage – dedicated to women’s and children’s rights.
To strengthen my ability to serve, I further upskilled and became a certified trainer from Protouch.
> POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment)
> POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences)
> Corporate soft skills
> Emotional intelligence
My journey is still unfolding. Every challenge, every achievement, and every transition has shaped who I am and why I remain committed to creating safer, stronger, and more empowered communities.
How did you discover your passion?
I discovered my passion through a deep love for connecting with people and supporting them in meaningful ways. I’ve always felt a strong pull toward contributing to society, and every experience I encountered only strengthened that purpose.
Over time, I realised that empowering individuals, creating awareness, and building safer, healthier communities resonate with who I am at my core. This is the work that fuels me, guides me, and gives my journey its true direction.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
Despite the challenges, what keeps me going is a lesson life has taught me repeatedly. I was always an above-average student—never the topper—but I learned early that you don’t have to be the best to keep moving forward. What truly matters is persistence.
Through every setback, I realised one powerful truth: I am the only one who can genuinely motivate myself. That self-belief, shaped by my failures and strengthened by my experiences, is what gives me the resilience to rise every time life gets tough.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
Three Most Important Lessons I’ve Learned in Life:
1. Failures are not the end — they’re part of the journey. Every setback has taught me something that success never could. Failure shaped my resilience, sharpened my clarity, and reminded me that growth often hides behind moments of struggle.
2. Never give up on yourself. Things won’t always go according to plan, but your ability to rise, try again, and keep moving forward defines your strength. Persistence becomes your biggest advantage when everything else seems uncertain.
3. Your true calling may be different from what you first imagined. If something isn’t working, it’s not the end — it’s life redirecting you toward where you’re meant to be. Sometimes the detour is the path.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
1. Never give up. Challenges will always come your way, but persistence is what keeps you moving forward. When you refuse to quit, you naturally rise above obstacles.
2. Keep learning. Growth happens when you stay curious. Every new skill, experience, or perspective adds value and keeps you evolving.
3. Be consistent. Consistency may feel slow, but it’s powerful. Small, steady efforts—repeated over time—can transform your life in ways you never expected.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Keep chasing your goals every single day. Even the smallest steps matter. Stay focused, stay disciplined, and keep your vision at the front of your mind.
When you consistently think about what you want, your actions naturally align with your purpose — and that’s exactly where success begins.
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
People appreciated my work, respected my efforts, and trusted my voice. Along the way, I was honoured with several regional recognitions, including the Madhya Pradesh Ratna Award and the Pride of Nation Award 2025 in Delhi.
But beyond the awards, what matters most to me is the transformation within.
Taking sessions on women’s rights and children’s rights didn’t just empower others — it healed me from the inside.
Seeing lives change, minds open, and people feel safer and more aware makes every step of my journey deeply fulfilling. This impact is the real reward, and it’s what continues to inspire me every single day.
